First Release - This 1974 poster was released by BEF and would have been displayed in cinemas to advertise the film in the lead up to the official release. In 1979 Hedon Productions re-submitted the film to the Australian Classification Board, with the film being re-released in its amended version on the 1 November 1979.
In 1974 the Chief Censor prohibited the release of 'Stone' in New Zealand. In 1975 it passed an appeals board and was given an R rating and age restriction limit of 20 years. Note: the New Zealand day bill poster has been stamped stating 'persons under 20 years will not be permitted'.

Second Release - This poster was released by Hedon Productions as the film was self distributed by them from Friday 1 November 1979. This was due to the five year contract with previous distributors BEF coming to an end.
Note: This is the final scene in the movie with all the Grave Diggers riding into the sunset, 'the sunset shot' as stated by Sandy. This scene was filmed in 1973 East of Cobar at Nyngan, NSW. The Grave Diggers stopped overnight the Royal Hotel in Dubbo the night before, meeting an Outlaw Club for drinks and watching the movie 'Zulu' at Dubbo Drive In.
